Green Campus Policy

Introduction

A.S. Group of Institutions, Khanna, fosters a strong and enduring commitment to nature, acknowledged by both students and staff. Through the adoption and promotion of eco-friendly practices, we aim to foster a sense of environmental responsibility, cultivating eco-consciousness among our community and the world around us.

Objectives of the Policy

  • To continually enhance the efficiency and effectiveness in the use of resources, including energy and water, while reducing consumption and minimizing waste production, with a focus on recovery and recycling where possible.
  • To make the campus plastic-free.
  • To conduct periodic Environmental and Energy audits to assess and improve sustainability practices.
  • To reduce paper usage in administration by implementing e-governance policies.
  • To protect and conserve ecological systems and resources within the campus.
  • To ensure the responsible use of environmental resources to meet the needs of both current and future generations.
  • To incorporate environmental concerns into policies, plans, and programs for social development and outreach activities.

Energy Conservation & Management

  • Install LED lighting across the campus to reduce energy consumption.
  • Invest in energy-efficient equipment.
  • Promote awareness through “Save Energy” labels and posters.
  • Maximize natural lighting and ventilation.
  • Continuously improve energy efficiency and resource availability.

Waste Management

  • Minimize waste generation, promote reuse, and recycle materials.
  • Ban plastic usage on campus.
  • Provide designated dustbins and waste containers.
  • Implement solid waste composting in canteen.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous and electronic waste.
  • Adopt a comprehensive recycling program and waste-to-composting initiatives.

Water Conservation & Management
