Introduction

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of A.S Group of Institutions is established to enhance the quality and standards of academic and administrative processes in the institution. The IQAC ensures continuous improvement in the teaching, learning, research, and administrative activities, striving for excellence.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the IQAC are as follows:

  • To develop a quality culture in the institution.
  • To facilitate the implementation of quality initiatives in all areas.
  • To ensure the continuous improvement of institutional processes, teaching, learning, and administration.
  • To conduct regular self-assessment and audits.
  • To encourage faculty, students, and staff to engage in quality-driven activities and research.

Composition of the IQAC Committee

The IQAC Committee shall comprise representatives from academic, administrative, and student bodies. The members are to be appointed for a term of three years, with provisions for reappointment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversees the functioning of the IQAC, ensures that the policy is implemented effectively, and provides strategic direction.
  • Assists other members in the execution of responsibilities and ensures the smooth operation of the IQAC.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of IQAC and implements initiatives and recommendations.
  • Contribute to academic quality improvement, research activities, and curriculum development.
  • Monitor administrative processes, including finance, infrastructure, and student services.
  • Provide external perspectives to enhance quality standards.
  • Represent student interests and participate in feedback collection.

Functions and Responsibilities

The IQAC Committee will perform the following functions:

  • Quality Monitoring: Regularly assess academic and administrative performance and set benchmarks.
  • Data Collection: Gather data related to teaching, learning, research, infrastructure, and student feedback to assess quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in curriculum design, teaching methodologies, infrastructure, and administration.
  • Accreditation Support: Prepare reports and provide necessary documentation for accreditation bodies (e.g., NAAC).
  • Workshops & Training: Conduct periodic workshops, seminars, and training programs for faculty and staff on quality enhancement.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Implement regular feedback from students, staff, and stakeholders to measure satisfaction and areas for improvement.
  • Monitoring Action Plans: Ensure the action plans for improving academic, infrastructural, and research quality are executed on time.
  • Reports: Prepare and submit annual quality assurance reports to governing bodies, management, and external agencies.

Academic and Administrative Quality Improvement

The IQAC is responsible for monitoring academic and administrative functions:

  • Academic Quality: Review teaching strategies, learning outcomes, assessment methods, and faculty performance. Implement faculty development programs to improve instructional quality.
  • Administrative Quality: Review administrative functions, including admissions, finance, student support, and facilities management. Implement improvements to ensure efficiency and transparency.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain records of all meetings, decisions, and initiatives undertaken by the committee.
  • Submit annual reports to management.
  • Document actions taken based on feedback and evaluation processes.

Internal Audits and Reviews

  • Conduct regular internal audits and evaluations of academic and administrative functions.
  • Provide periodic reports and analyses on institutional performance, identifying areas for further improvement.

Funding for Quality Initiatives

The institution shall allocate a specific budget for IQAC-related activities, including faculty development programs, research initiatives, quality assessments, and infrastructure development.

IQAC is responsible for effectively utilizing the allocated funds.

Collaboration and Networking

  • The IQAC will actively seek collaborations with other institutions, industry partners, and organizations to promote quality in teaching, research, and administration.
  • Encourage faculty and staff to attend quality-related workshops and conferences for professional development.

Review and Evaluation of the IQAC Policy

This policy shall be reviewed annually by the IQAC committee to assess its effectiveness and relevance to the institution’s goals. Any amendments or revisions will be made based on feedback, internal reviews, and changing educational standards.
