Discipline & Conduct Rules
- The students are expected in maintain proper discipline inside and outside the classrooms.
- The defacing of walls and furniture in any from is strictly prohibited and punishable.
- The students must not invite any outsider to visit the college, without the permission of the Director
- Any student who files a false case in any court, tribunal or authority against the college or its management will be guilty of misconduct. The Director, may, in his discretion, refuse to issue a Character Certificate to such a student.
- Any act of indiscipline and misconduct will attract severe punishment which may include withdrawal of concessions and stipends, heavy fine, suspension, expulsion or rustication.
- Ragging is forbidden and punishable by imposing heavy fine, rustication or expulsion from Institute as per guidelines by I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) , Kapurthala/Punjab Government.
- The entry of the student to the college will be strictly through the identity card.
- The students must attend the college in prescribed uniform on every Tuesday, Friday and ceremonial days.
- Regular and Punctual attendance in lectures, computer centre and class examinations is compulsory.
- Use of Mobile phone within the academic area and campus is strictly prohibited.
- Students are not allowed to paste/display notices or posters within the Institution without prior permission from the Director. All such communications must be submitted through the HOD, who will forward them only if deemed fit and necessary. A student infringing this rule will be suspended, and disciplinary action will be taken against him/her.
The following are strictly forbidden within any part of institute :
- The possession or use of cigarette or tobacco in any form.
- The possession or use of alcoholic beverages
- The possession or use of addictive or hallucinogenic drugs.
- Possession of fire-arms or any other lethal weapon.
- Gambling
Attendance & Assessment
In Order To Be Eligible To Appear In Any Semester End Examination, A Candidate Must Have Had The Examination Form Submitted To The Registrar Through The Director Of His/her College Along With The Following Certificates Signed By The Director :
- Of Good Character,
- Of Having Remained On The Rolls Of The College,
- Of Having Attended Not Less Than 75% Of The Aggregate Scheduled Periods, In All Prescribed Courses Of Theory (Lectures Plus Tutorials) And Practical (including Seminar, Project, Industrial Training Etc.).
- A Student Shall Have To Attend 75% Of The Scheduled Lectures Together With Theory & Practical, Otherwise He/she Shall Not Be Allowed To Appear In That Subject In University Exam. A Student Detained In The Course(s) Would Be Allowed To Appear In The Subsequent University Exams Only On Having Completed The Attendance In The Subject, When The Course Is Offered As Regular Course(s), As Per The Rules.
- The Director Of Institution May Condone Attendance Shortage Upto 10% In Total For Reasons To Be Recorded In Writing (owing To Serious Illness, Calamity, Participation In Any Game/sports/competitions With Approval Of The Institution Etc.). However, Under No Circumstances, A Student Who Has An Aggregate Attendance Of Less Then 65% In A Semester Shall Not Be Allowed To Appear In The Semester End Examination.
- Attendance Shall Be Counted Upto 7 Days Prior To The Date Of Commencement Of The University Theory Examinations. Director Shall Announce The Names Of All Such Students Who Are Not Found Eligible To Appear In The Semester End Examinations 7 Calender Days Prior To Start Of The Semester End Examinations And Simultaneously Intimate The Same To The Controller Of Examination.
- In Case Any Student Appears In The Examination By Default, Who In Fact Has Been Detained By The Institute, His/her Results Shall Be Treated As Null And Void.

Policy Against Ragging
Action In The Event Of Ragging
The institution shall punish a student found guilty of ragging after following the procedure and in the manner prescribed here in under:
- The Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution shall take an appropriate decision, in regard to punishment or otherwise, depending on the facts of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging established in the recommendations of the Anti-Ragging Squad.
- The Anti-Ragging Committee may, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging Squad, award to those who found guilty, one or more of the following punishments, namely
- Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
- Withholding results.
- Cancellation of admission.
- Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.
- Rustication/Expulsion from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters or for a specified period.
Policy Against Sexual Harassment
The rules framed by the Government from time to time regarding prevention of sexual harassment including formation of committee in this regard will be adhered to it. It is expected that all students, staff, faculty, and officials will treat one another in a dignified manner. Anyone violating the rules is subject to disciplinary action. Reports of sexual harassment are taken seriously and are dealt promptly.
Parents – Teacher Meeting
Keeping the importance of interaction and a periodical correspondence between the parents, students as well as the college. Parents Teacher meeting is conducted once in each semester. Parents are also welcome to check their ward’s performance, attendance and any other related activities at any time. The meeting will be held immediately after first MST/ Sessionals. Parents are requested to keep a regular check on their ward’s performance.
